“Stolen waters ¹  are sweet, and food obtained in secret ²  is pleasant!”

The waters closed over my head; I thought ¹  I was about to die. ² 

But you trample on the sea with your horses, on the surging, raging waters. ¹ 

By the blast of your nostrils ¹  the waters were piled up, the flowing water stood upright like a heap, ²  and the deep waters were solidified in the heart of the sea.

He said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and flow down into the Arabah; when they enter the Dead Sea, ¹  where the sea is stagnant, ²  the waters become fresh. ³ 

God said, “Let there be an expanse ¹  in the midst of the waters and let it separate water ²  from water.

God called the dry ground “land” ¹  and the gathered waters he called “seas.” God saw that it was good.

The waters completely inundated ¹  the earth so that even ²  all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.

and sent out a raven; it kept flying ¹  back and forth until the waters had dried up on the earth.

Then Noah ¹  sent out a dove ²  to see if the waters had receded ³  from the surface of the ground.

So Aaron extended his hand over the waters of Egypt, and frogs ¹  came up and covered the land of Egypt.

But ¹  you blew with your breath, and ²  the sea covered them. They sank ³  like lead in the mighty waters.

These are the waters of Meribah, because the Israelites contended with the Lord, and his holiness was maintained ¹  among them.

Joshua and his whole army caught them by surprise at the Waters of Merom and attacked them. ¹ 

If he holds back the waters, then they dry up; ¹  if he releases them, ²  they destroy ³  the land.

A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God’s wrath.

He locks the waters in his clouds, and the clouds do not burst with the weight of them.

He marks out the horizon ¹  on the surface of the waters as a boundary between light and darkness.

In a good field, by abundant waters, it was planted to grow branches, bear fruit, and become a beautiful vine.

Your rowers have brought you into surging waters. The east wind has wrecked you in the heart of the seas.
