Then the high priest said, “Are these things true?” ¹ 

Did my hand ¹  not make all these things?’ ² 

But examine all things; hold fast to what is good.

There are six things that the Lord hates, even ¹  seven ²  things that are an abomination to him: ³ 

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

and said, “By what authority ¹  are you doing these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”

These things happened as examples for us, so that we will not crave evil things as they did.

(His disciples did not understand these things when they first happened, ¹  but when Jesus was glorified, ²  then they remembered that these things were written about him and that these things had happened ³  to him.) ⁴ 

for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, ¹  whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him.

You put all things under his control.” ¹  For when he put all things under his control, he left nothing outside of his control. At present we do not yet see all things under his control, ² 

speaking of these things in all his letters. ¹  Some things in these letters ²  are hard to understand, things ³  the ignorant and unstable twist ⁴  to their own destruction, as they also do to the rest of the scriptures. ⁵ 

“‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things, for the nations which I am about to drive out before you ¹  have been defiled with all these things.

Whoever does these things is abhorrent to the Lord and because of these detestable things ¹  the Lord your God is about to drive them out ²  from before you.

The good person ¹  brings good things out of his ²  good treasury, ³  and the evil person brings evil things out of his evil treasury.

“Tell us, when will these things ¹  happen? And what will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?”

So ¹  he said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” ² 

So ¹  they asked him, ²  “Teacher, when will these things ³  happen? And what will be the sign that ⁴  these things are about to take place?”

If I have told you people ¹  about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? ² 

I am telling you the things I have seen while with the ¹  Father; ²  as for you, ³  practice the things you have heard from the ⁴  Father!”

This is the disciple who testifies about these things and has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.
