The Lord says to Edom, ¹  “I will certainly make you small among nations. I will make you despised by all humankind.

In the four corners of the court were small ¹  courts, 70 feet ²  in length and 52½ feet ³  in width; the four were all the same size.

From one of them came a small horn. ¹  But it grew to be very big, toward the south and the east and toward the beautiful land. ² 

After ¹  entering into an alliance with him, he will behave treacherously; he will ascend to power with only a small force. ² 

Indeed, look! The Lord is giving the command. ¹  He will smash the large house to bits, and the small house into little pieces.

Because of the crowd, he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him so the crowd ¹  would not press toward him.

Anything their carcass may fall on will become unclean. An oven or small stove must be smashed to pieces; they are unclean, and they will stay unclean ¹  to you.

Is it a small thing ¹  that you have brought us up out of the land that flows with milk and honey, ²  to kill us in the wilderness? Now do you want to make yourself a prince ³  over us?

They returned and reported to Joshua, ¹  “Don’t send the whole army. ²  About two or three thousand men are adequate to defeat Ai. ³  Don’t tire out the whole army, for Ai is small.” ⁴

When the Israelites had mustered and had received their supplies, they marched out to face them in battle. When the Israelites deployed opposite them, they were like two small flocks ¹  of goats, but the Syrians filled the land.

Elisha said to her, “What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She answered, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a small jar of olive oil.”
