When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine left.” ¹ 

His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.” ¹ 

But the Jerusalem above is free, ¹  and she is our mother.

“Honor your father and mother,” ¹  which is the first commandment accompanied by a promise, namely,

Then he got up, took the child and his mother during ¹  the night, and went to Egypt.

So ¹  he got up and took the child and his mother and returned to the land of Israel.

¹  Someone ²  told him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside wanting ³  to speak to you.”

To the one who had said this, Jesus ¹  replied, ²  “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is ¹  my brother and sister and mother.”

Instructed by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”

His ¹  head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.

Then ¹  Jesus’ ²  mother and his brothers ³  came. Standing ⁴  outside, they sent word to him, to summon him.

So ¹  the dead man ²  sat up and began to speak, and Jesus ³  gave him back ⁴  to his mother.

Now Jesus’ ¹  mother and his brothers ²  came to him, but ³  they could not get near him because of the crowd.

Now on the third day there was a wedding at Cana ¹  in Galilee. ²  Jesus’ mother ³  was there,

saying, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who were seeking the child’s life are dead.”

Now ¹  when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying down, ²  sick with a fever.

“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

While Jesus ¹  was still speaking to the crowds, ²  his mother and brothers ³  came and ⁴  stood outside, asking ⁵  to speak to him.

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? ¹  And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?
