His raging anger lashed out against them, ¹  He sent fury, rage, and trouble as messengers who bring disaster. ² 

For messengers are coming, heralding disaster, from the city of Dan and from the hills of Ephraim. ¹

The king ¹  heard that King Tirhakah of Ethiopia was marching out to fight him. ²  He again sent messengers to Hezekiah, ordering them:

Hezekiah took the letter ¹  from the messengers and read it. ²  Then Hezekiah went up to the Lord’s temple and spread it out before the Lord.
