So Jacob sent a message for Rachel and Leah ¹  to come to the field ²  where his flocks were. ³ 

Balaam said to God, “Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent a message to me, saying,

Now if you say to yourselves, ¹  ‘How can we tell that a message is not from the Lord?’ ²  –

So David sent a message to Joab that said, “Send me Uriah the Hittite.” So Joab sent Uriah to David.

Like cutting off the feet or drinking violence, ¹  so is sending ²  a message by the hand of a fool. ³ 

Here is a message about Damascus: “Look, Damascus is no longer a city, it is a heap of ruins!

Here is a message about Arabia: In the thicket of Arabia you spend the night, you Dedanite caravans.

Pay attention and listen to my message! ¹  Be attentive and listen to what I have to say! ² 

“Go immediately ¹  to Nineveh, that large city, ²  and proclaim to ³  it the message that I tell you.”

But just suppose you continue to say, ‘The message of the Lord is burdensome.’ Here is what the Lord says will happen: ‘I sent word to you that you must not say, “The Lord’s message is burdensome.” But you used the words “The Lord’s message is burdensome” anyway.

I have oxen, donkeys, sheep, and male and female servants. I have sent ¹  this message ²  to inform my lord, so that I may find favor in your sight.’”

Then the Lord put a message ¹  in Balaam’s mouth and said, “Return to Balak, and speak what I tell you.” ² 

Then the Lord met Balaam and put a message ¹  in his mouth and said, “Return to Balak, and speak what I tell you.”

So King Adoni-Zedek of Jerusalem sent this message to King Hoham of Hebron, King Piram of Jarmuth, King Japhia of Lachish, and King Debir of Eglon:

The messengers came again and said, “This is what Ben Hadad says, ‘I sent this message to you, “You must give me your silver, gold, wives, and sons.”

But the prophet sent this message to the king of Israel, “Make sure you don’t pass through this place because Syria is invading there.”

So the king of Israel sent a message to the place the prophet had pointed out, warning it ¹  to be on its guard. This happened on several occasions. ² 

The chief adviser then stood there and called out loudly in the Judahite dialect, ¹  “Listen to the message of the great king, the king of Assyria.

He sent Eliakim the palace supervisor, Shebna the scribe, and the leading priests, ¹  clothed in sackcloth, with this message to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz:

Pay attention, Lord, and hear! Open your eyes, Lord, and observe! Listen to the message Sennacherib sent and how he taunts the living God! ¹
