And all the people ¹  came to him early in the morning to listen to him in the temple courts. ² 

All who came before me were ¹  thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. ² 

So Paul stood up, ¹  gestured ²  with his hand and said, “Men of Israel, ³  and you Gentiles who fear God, ⁴  listen:

“Therefore be advised ¹  that this salvation from God ²  has been sent to the Gentiles; ³  they ⁴  will listen!” ⁵ 

Listen, ¹  I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, ²  but we will all be changed –

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! ¹  Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

And if anyone will not welcome you or listen to your message, shake the dust off ¹  your feet as you leave that house or that town.

And concerning them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: ‘You will listen carefully ¹  yet will never understand, you will look closely ²  yet will never comprehend.

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. ¹  The one who has ears had better listen! ² 

But if he does not listen, take one or two others with you, so that at the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. ¹ 

If a place will not welcome you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off ¹  your feet as a testimony against them.”

Then ¹  a cloud ²  overshadowed them, ³  and a voice came from the cloud, “This is my one dear Son. ⁴  Listen to him!” ⁵ 

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, ¹  for I proclaim to you good news ²  that brings great joy to all the people:

So listen carefully, ¹  for whoever has will be given more, but ²  whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has ³  will be taken from him.”

We know that God doesn’t listen to ¹  sinners, but if anyone is devout ²  and does his will, God ³  listens to ⁴  him. ⁵ 

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! ¹  Why do you listen to him?”

So he replied, ¹  “Brothers and fathers, listen to me. The God of glory appeared to our forefather ²  Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he settled in Haran,

because you are especially ¹  familiar with all the customs and controversial issues ²  of the Jews. Therefore I ask ³  you to listen to me patiently.

Listen! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you at all!
