Let its morning stars ¹  be darkened; let it wait ²  for daylight but find none, ³  nor let it see the first rays ⁴  of dawn,

Don’t let the current overpower me! Don’t let the deep swallow me up! Don’t let the pit ¹  devour me! ² 

“Listen to me in silence, you coastlands! ¹  Let the nations find renewed strength! Let them approach and then speak; let us come together for debate! ²

Let Israel say, “Yes, his loyal love endures!”

So let their children die of starvation. Let them be cut down by the sword. ¹  Let their wives lose their husbands and children. Let the older men die of disease ²  and the younger men die by the sword in battle.

God said, “Let there be an expanse ¹  in the midst of the waters and let it separate water ²  from water.

then ¹  let my arm fall from the shoulder, ²  let my arm be broken off at the socket. ³ 

Let us evaluate ¹  for ourselves what is right; ²  let us come to know among ourselves what is good.

Let the oppressed eat and be filled! ¹  Let those who seek his help praise the Lord! May you ²  live forever!

Let all the people of the earth acknowledge the Lord and turn to him! ¹  Let all the nations ²  worship you! ³ 

Let the whole earth fear ¹  the Lord! Let all who live in the world stand in awe of him!

Do not let the afflicted be turned back in shame! Let the oppressed and poor praise your name! ¹ 

Let’s enter his presence ¹  with thanksgiving! Let’s shout out to him in celebration! ² 

Come! Let’s bow down and worship! ¹  Let’s kneel before the Lord, our creator!

Let the sky rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout!

Let the fields and everything in them celebrate! Then let the trees of the forest shout with joy

Let your eyes look directly ¹  in front of you and let your gaze ²  look straight before you.

Come, let’s drink deeply ¹  of lovemaking ²  until morning, let’s delight ourselves ³  with sexual intercourse. ⁴ 

Let the desert and dry region be happy; ¹  let the wilderness ²  rejoice and bloom like a lily!
