However, if you ¹  turn aside and do not obey, but are lured away to worship and serve other gods,

However, the high places were not eliminated; the people were still not devoted to the God of their ancestors. ¹ 

However, ¹  because ²  I called but you refused to listen, ³  because ⁴  I stretched out my hand ⁵  but no one paid attention,
