And after my skin has been destroyed, ¹  yet in my flesh ²  I will see God, ³ 

His flesh wastes away from sight, and his bones, which were not seen, are easily visible. ¹ 

all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.

The folds ¹  of its flesh are tightly joined; they are firm on it, immovable. ²

For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by ¹  the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.

for you are still influenced by the flesh. ¹  For since there is still jealousy and dissension among you, are you not influenced by the flesh and behaving like unregenerate people? ² 

For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires ¹  that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to ²  each other, so that you cannot do what you want.

You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskins. This will be a reminder ¹  of the covenant between me and you.

You must not have sexual intercourse with your father’s sister; she is your father’s flesh. ¹ 

You must not have sexual intercourse with your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s flesh.
