Now when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, ¹ 

“I am the good ¹  shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life ²  for the sheep.

No one has greater love than this – that one lays down his life ¹  for his friends.

So Jacob went down to Egypt and died there, ¹  along with our ancestors, ² 

Philip went down to the main city of Samaria ¹  and began proclaiming ²  the Christ ³  to them.

These two ¹  went down and prayed for them so that they would receive the Holy Spirit.

When ¹  he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain. ²  After he sat down his disciples came to him.

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹ 

Then his fellow slave threw himself down and begged him, ¹  ‘Be patient with me, and I will repay you.’

The one on the roof ¹  must not come down or go inside to take anything out of his house. ²
