Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

I brought him to your disciples, but ¹  they were not able to heal him.”

The ¹  disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?” ² 

So ¹  the disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.

When ¹  Jesus had finished saying all these things, he told his disciples,

When ¹  the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

So ¹  the disciples did as Jesus had instructed them, and they prepared the Passover.

So ¹  the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated.

Now ¹  Jesus left that place and came to his hometown, ²  and his disciples followed him.

Immediately he got into a boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha. ¹ 

In the house once again, the disciples asked him about this.

When evening came, Jesus and his disciples ¹  went out of the city.

I ¹  begged ²  your disciples to cast it out, but ³  they could not do so.” ⁴ 

Now an argument started among the disciples ¹  as to which of them might be ²  the greatest.

But ¹  some of the Pharisees ²  in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” ³ 

As ¹  all the people were listening, Jesus ²  said to his disciples,

Again the next day John ¹  was standing there ²  with two of his disciples.

When John’s ¹  two disciples heard him say this, ²  they followed Jesus. ³ 

and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. ¹ 

His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal ¹  for your house will devour me.” ²
