“Son of man, eat your bread with trembling, ¹  and drink your water with anxious shaking.

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

So ¹  they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.”

So they began to discuss with one another about having no bread. ¹ 

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, ¹  which is called the Passover, was approaching.

So they said to him, “Sir, ¹  give us this bread all the time!”

Judas ¹  took the piece of bread and went out immediately. (Now it was night.) ² 

Bread made without yeast must be eaten ¹  for seven days; ²  no bread made with yeast shall be seen ³  among you, and you must have no yeast among you within any of your borders.

and from the basket of unleavened bread that was before the Lord he took one unleavened loaf, one loaf of bread mixed with olive oil, and one wafer, ¹  and placed them on the fat parts and on the right thigh.

The Lord’s messenger touched the meat and the unleavened bread with the tip of his staff. ¹  Fire flared up from the rock and consumed the meat and unleavened bread. The Lord’s messenger then disappeared. ² 

Everyone who remains in your house will come to bow before him for a little money ¹  and for a scrap of bread. Each will say, ‘Assign me to a priestly task so I can eat a scrap of bread.’”

The priest replied to David, “I don’t have any ordinary bread at my disposal. Only holy bread is available, and then only if your soldiers ¹  have abstained from sexual relations with women.” ² 

Then he said to me, “Son of man, I am about to remove the bread supply ¹  in Jerusalem. ²  They will eat their bread ration anxiously, and they will drink their water ration in terror

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.

So then, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of vice and evil, but with the bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth. ¹ 

Melchizedek king of Salem ¹  brought out bread and wine. (Now he was the priest of the Most High God.) ² 

And he set the bread in order on it ¹  before the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

They ate some of the produce of the land the day after the Passover, including unleavened bread and roasted grain. ¹ 

Now what do you have at your disposal? ¹  Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever can be found.”
