and he entered once for all into the most holy place not by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood, and so he himself secured ¹  eternal redemption.

Jesus Christ is the one who came by water and blood – not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because ¹  the Spirit is the truth.

I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of those who testified to Jesus. ¹  I ²  was greatly astounded ³  when I saw her.

And in his anguish ¹  he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.] ² 

The one who eats ¹  my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him. ² 

But one of the soldiers pierced ¹  his side with a spear, and blood and water ²  flowed out immediately.

In him ¹  we have redemption through his blood, ²  the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

Therefore, brothers and sisters, ¹  since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

And Jesus answered him, ¹  “You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood ²  did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven!

And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, ¹  we would not have participated with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” But they said, “What is that to us? You take care of it yourself!”

The ¹  chief priests took the silver and said, “It is not lawful to put this into the temple treasury, since it is blood money.”

so that this generation may be held accountable ¹  for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning ²  of the world, ³ 

Now ¹  there were some present on that occasion who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. ² 

The one who eats ¹  my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. ² 

This ¹  became known to all who lived in Jerusalem, so that in their own language ²  they called that field ³  Hakeldama, that is, “Field of Blood.”)

And I will perform wonders in the sky ¹  above and miraculous signs ²  on the earth below, blood and fire and clouds of smoke.

The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious ¹  day of the Lord comes.

And when the blood of your witness ¹  Stephen was shed, ²  I myself was standing nearby, approving, ³  and guarding the cloaks ⁴  of those who were killing him.’ ⁵ 

Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous ¹  by his blood, ²  we will be saved through him from God’s wrath. ³
