But they did not understand this statement and were afraid to ask him.

He answered them, ¹  “I will also ask you a question, and you tell me:

But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there not a prophet of the Lord still here, that we may ask him?”

Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these days?” ¹  for it is not wise to ask that. ² 

When the wall has collapsed, people will ask you, “Where is the whitewash you coated it with?”
