Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. ¹  They give ²  insight to the untrained. ³ 

to the one who made the great lights, for his loyal love endures,

Light ¹  is sweet, ²  and it is pleasant for a person ³  to see the sun. ⁴ 

O descendants ¹  of Jacob, come, let us walk in the Lord’s guiding light. ² 

a light, ¹  for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory ²  to your people Israel.”

And the light shines on ¹  in the darkness, ²  but ³  the darkness has not mastered it. ⁴ 

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself ¹  as an angel of light.

The light of the full moon will be like the sun’s glare and the sun’s glare will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, ¹  when the Lord binds up his people’s fractured bones ²  and heals their severe wound. ³ 

(9:1) The people walking in darkness see a bright light; ¹  light shines on those who live in a land of deep darkness. ² 

For God, who said “Let light shine out of darkness,” ¹  is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge ²  of God in the face of Christ. ³ 

and spices and olive oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense.

Then from the wicked the light is withheld, and the arm raised in violence ¹  is broken. ² 

He spread out a cloud for a cover, ¹  and provided a fire to light up the night.

On that day there will be no light – the sources of light in the heavens will congeal. ¹ 

Therefore see to it ¹  that the light in you ²  is not darkness.

Those who call evil good and good evil are as good as dead, ¹  who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter. ² 

“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a hidden place ¹  or under a basket, ²  but on a lampstand, so that those who come in can see the light.

Then Jesus spoke out again, ¹  “I am the light of the world. ²  The one who follows me will never ³  walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

For the Jews there was radiant happiness and joyous honor. ¹ 

Now this is the basis for judging: ¹  that the light has come into the world and people ²  loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.
