Be subject to every human institution ¹  for the Lord’s sake, whether to a king as supreme

in that he spends the rest of his time ¹  on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires.

“Whoever sheds human blood, ¹  by other humans ²  must his blood be shed; for in God’s image ³  God ⁴  has made humankind.”

And whoever touches the body of someone killed with a sword in the open fields, ¹  or the body of someone who died of natural causes, ²  or a human bone, or a grave, will be unclean seven days. ³ 

And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. ¹ 

So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.

or when he touches human uncleanness with regard to anything by which he can become unclean, ¹  even if he did not realize it, but he himself has later come to know it and is guilty;

Give us help against the enemy, for any help men might offer is futile. ¹ 

Their ¹  idols are made of silver and gold – they are man-made. ² 

The nations’ idols are made of silver and gold, they are man-made. ¹ 

rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth, ¹  and delighting ²  in its people. ³ 

For this reason all hands hang limp, ¹  every human heart loses its courage. ² 

John’s baptism – was it from heaven or from people? ¹  Answer me.”

For they loved praise ¹  from men more than praise ²  from God.

Since many ¹  are boasting according to human standards, ²  I too will boast.

Death and Destruction ¹  are before the Lord – how much more ²  the hearts of humans! ³ 

Who really knows if the human spirit ¹  ascends upward, and the animal’s spirit descends into the earth?

– children not born ¹  by human parents ²  or by human desire ³  or a husband’s ⁴  decision, ⁵  but by God.

You people ¹  judge by outward appearances; ²  I do not judge anyone. ³ 

Yet the Most High ¹  does not live in houses made by human hands, ²  as the prophet says,
