May he grant your heart’s desire; ¹  may he bring all your plans to pass! ² 

The Lord speaks; ¹  many, many women spread the good news. ² 

Yes, the Lord will bestow his good blessings, ¹  and our land will yield ²  its crops.

How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker? ¹ 

May he not allow your foot to slip! May your protector ¹  not sleep! ² 

For ¹  the Lord gives ²  wisdom, and from his mouth ³  comes ⁴  knowledge and understanding.

Although ¹  he is scornful to arrogant scoffers, ²  yet ³  he shows favor to the humble. ⁴ 

Yet ¹  if he is caught ²  he must repay ³  seven times over, he might even have to give ⁴  all the wealth of his house.

The one who winks ¹  his ²  eye causes ³  trouble, and the one who speaks foolishness ⁴  will come to ruin.

What the wicked fears ¹  will come on him; what the righteous desire ²  will be granted. ³ 

The wicked person desires a stronghold, ¹  but the righteous root ²  endures. ³ 

With pride ¹  comes only ²  contention, but wisdom is with the well-advised. ³ 

Keen insight ¹  wins ²  favor, but the conduct ³  of the unfaithful is harsh. ⁴ 

All day long he craves greedily, ¹  but the righteous gives and does not hold back. ² 

A rod and reproof ¹  impart ²  wisdom, but a child who is unrestrained ³  brings shame ⁴  to his mother. ⁵ 

The fear of people ¹  becomes ²  a snare, ³  but whoever trusts in the Lord will be set on high. ⁴ 

He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls and tear down your towers with his weapons. ¹ 

But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go, ¹  not even under force. ² 

Everyone who crosses over to those numbered, from twenty years old and up, is to pay an offering to the Lord.

Whoever makes perfume like it and whoever puts any of it on someone not a priest ¹  will be cut off ²  from his people.’”
