When the man got ready to leave, ¹  his father-in-law convinced him to stay another night. ² 

I would go out after it, strike it down, and rescue the sheep from its mouth. If it rose up against me, I would grab it by its jaw, strike it, and kill it.

Then Jonathan son of Saul left and went to David at Horesh. He encouraged him ¹  through God.

Then the king stood up and tore his garments and lay down on the ground. All his servants were standing there with torn garments as well.

When David got up the next morning, the Lord had already spoken ¹  to Gad the prophet, David’s seer:

Adonijah feared Solomon, so he got up and went and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. ¹ 

The Lord brought ¹  against Solomon an enemy, Hadad the Edomite, a descendant of the Edomite king.

He established a rule ¹  in Jacob; he set up a law in Israel. He commanded our ancestors to make his deeds known to their descendants, ²

The two angels came to Sodom in the evening while ¹  Lot was sitting in the city’s gateway. ²  When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face toward the ground.

So they made a treaty ¹  at Beer Sheba. Then Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, returned ²  to the land of the Philistines. ³ 

Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew; Esau ate and drank, then got up and went out. ¹  So Esau despised his birthright. ² 

He left ¹  with all he owned. He quickly crossed ²  the Euphrates River ³  and headed for ⁴  the hill country of Gilead.

And he set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and put the curtain at the gate of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.

So Balaam got up in the morning, and said to the princes of Balak, “Go to your land, ¹  for the Lord has refused to permit me to go ²  with you.”
