Those who are eager to do ¹  wrong draw near; they are far from your law.

I hate and despise deceit; I love your law.

I long for your deliverance, O Lord; I find delight in your law.

Keep my commands ¹  so that you may live, ²  and obey ³  my instruction as your most prized possession. ⁴ 

Tie up the scroll as legal evidence, ¹  seal the official record of God’s instructions and give it to my followers. ² 

Then ¹  Joshua read aloud all the words of the law, including the blessings and the curses, just as they are written in the law scroll.

Accept instruction ¹  from his mouth and store up his words ²  in your heart.

They did not keep their covenant with God, ¹  and they refused to obey ²  his law.

If his sons reject my law and disobey my regulations,

How blessed is the one ¹  whom you instruct, O Lord, the one whom you teach from your law,

so that they might keep his commands and obey ¹  his laws. Praise the Lord!
