He has obstructed my paths ¹  and torn me to pieces; ²  he has made me desolate.

You make us like filthy scum ¹  in the estimation ²  of the nations.

I will pelt you with filth; ¹  I will treat you with contempt; I will make you a public spectacle.

Early ¹  in the morning Jacob ²  took the stone he had placed near his head ³  and set it up as a sacred stone. ⁴  Then he poured oil on top of it.

But the overseer of the court officials renamed them. He gave ¹  Daniel the name Belteshazzar, Hananiah he named Shadrach, Mishael he named Meshach, and Azariah he named Abednego. ² 

Now therefore reflect carefully on the recent past, ¹  before one stone was laid on another in the Lord’s temple. ² 

Then I spoke up, “Let a clean turban be put on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood nearby.

Then he washed his face and came out. With composure he said, ¹  “Set out the food.”

“Then you told your servants, ‘Bring him down to me so I can see ¹  him.’ ² 

And he put the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain,

And you must put olive oil on it and set frankincense on it – it is a grain offering.

they ¹  set those on the breasts and he offered the fat parts up in smoke on the altar.

The Lord lift up his countenance upon you ¹  and give you peace.”’
