The earth, from which food comes, is overturned below as though by fire; ¹ 

Indeed, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher ¹  like him?

Do you have an arm as powerful as God’s, ¹  and can you thunder with a voice like his?

It makes its tail stiff ¹  like a cedar, the sinews of its thighs are tightly wound.

Its heart ¹  is hard as rock, hard as a lower millstone.

If I had publicized these thoughts, ¹  I would have betrayed your loyal followers. ² 

He divided the sea and led them across it; he made the water stand in a heap.

He made his sanctuary as enduring as the heavens above; ¹  as secure as the earth, which he established permanently. ² 

Those who make them will end up ¹  like them, as will everyone who trusts in them.

As when one plows and breaks up the soil, ¹  so our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

I said, ¹  “There is no one like you, Lord. ²  You are great. And you are renowned for your power. ³ 

I spelled out my law for him in great detail, but they regard it as something totally unknown ¹  to them!

So ¹  I will pounce on them like a lion; ²  like a leopard I will lurk by the path.

I will signal for them and gather them, for I have already redeemed them; then they will become as numerous as they were before.

We will give you our consent on this one condition: You must become ¹  like us by circumcising ²  all your males.

By the blast of your nostrils ¹  the waters were piled up, the flowing water stood upright like a heap, ²  and the deep waters were solidified in the heart of the sea.

Whoever makes perfume like it and whoever puts any of it on someone not a priest ¹  will be cut off ²  from his people.’”

You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge ¹  against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. ²  I am the Lord.

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you – from your fellow Israelites; ¹  you must listen to him.
