(although Jesus himself was not baptizing, but his disciples were), ¹ 

(For his disciples had gone off into the town to buy supplies. ¹ ) ² 

Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, ¹  “Rabbi, eat something.” ² 

So the disciples began to say ¹  to one another, “No one brought him anything ²  to eat, did they?” ³ 

Now when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, ¹ 

Then the disciples replied, ¹  “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”

The disciples began to look at one another, worried and perplexed ¹  to know which of them he was talking about.

But when Paul wanted to enter the public assembly, ¹  the disciples would not let him.

Then the disciples came to him and said, “Do you know that when the Pharisees ¹  heard this saying they were offended?”

The disciples said to him, “Where can we get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy so great a crowd?”

So ¹  the disciples did as Jesus had instructed them, and they prepared the Passover.

telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came at night and stole his body ¹  while we were asleep.’

So ¹  the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated.

Now ¹  Jesus left that place and came to his hometown, ²  and his disciples followed him.

When John’s ¹  disciples heard this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.

Now ¹  when Jesus ²  had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about the parable.

His disciples answered him, “Where can someone get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”

Now people ¹  were even bringing their babies ²  to him for him to touch. ³  But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them. ⁴ 

His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal ¹  for your house will devour me.” ² 

They ¹  heaped insults ²  on him, saying, ³  “You are his disciple! ⁴  We are disciples of Moses!
