From this point on, Pilate tried ¹  to release him. But the Jewish leaders ²  shouted out, ³  “If you release this man, ⁴  you are no friend of Caesar! ⁵  Everyone who claims to be a king ⁶  opposes Caesar!”

Because Joseph, her husband to be, ¹  was a righteous man, and because he did not want to disgrace her, he intended to divorce her ²  privately.

After sending away the crowd, he got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan. ¹ 

The lord had compassion on that slave and released him, and forgave him the debt.

During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, ¹  whomever they wanted.

Then he released Barabbas for them. But after he had Jesus flogged, ¹  he handed him over ²  to be crucified. ³ 

Send them away so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy something for themselves to eat.”

Then some Pharisees ¹  came, and to test him ²  they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his ³  wife?” ⁴ 

So ¹  he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

So Pilate asked them, ¹  “Do you want me to release the king of the Jews for you?”

When ¹  Jesus saw her, he called her to him ²  and said, “Woman, ³  you are freed ⁴  from your infirmity.” ⁵ 

So when they were dismissed, ¹  they went down to Antioch, ²  and after gathering the entire group ³  together, they delivered the letter.

At daybreak ¹  the magistrates ²  sent their police officers, ³  saying, “Release those men.”

Then the commanding officer ¹  sent the young man away, directing him, ²  “Tell no one that you have reported ³  these things to me.”

Agrippa ¹  said to Festus, ²  “This man could have been released ³  if he had not appealed to Caesar.” ⁴ 

When ¹  they had heard my case, ²  they wanted to release me, ³  because there was no basis for a death sentence ⁴  against me.

You should know that ¹  our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you. ² 

Immediately Jesus ¹  made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dispersed the crowds.

And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.

But he did not answer her a word. Then ¹  his disciples came and begged him, ²  “Send her away, because she keeps on crying out after us.”
