So ¹  he answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.

So ¹  the Pharisees ²  went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, ³  as to how they could assassinate ⁴  him.

For what does it benefit a person ¹  if he gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself?

Nevertheless I must ¹  go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is impossible ²  that a prophet should be killed ³  outside Jerusalem.’ ⁴ 

but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. ¹ 

When they were all satisfied, Jesus ¹  said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces that are left over, so that nothing is wasted.”

He said this ¹  to fulfill the word he had spoken, ²  “I have not lost a single one of those whom you gave me.” ³ 

For all who have sinned apart from the law ¹  will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.” ¹ 

So by your knowledge the weak brother or sister, ¹  for whom Christ died, is destroyed. ² 

And let us not put Christ ¹  to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by snakes. ² 

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing,

They said to him, “He will utterly destroy those evil men! Then he will lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his portion at the harvest.”

The ¹  king was furious! He sent his soldiers, and they put those murderers to death ²  and set their city ³  on fire.

Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back in its place! ¹  For all who take hold of the sword will die by the sword.

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus killed.

“Leave us alone, ¹  Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One ²  of God!”

It has often thrown him into fire or water to destroy him. But if you are able to do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

For I tell you the truth, ¹  whoever gives you a cup of water because ²  you bear Christ’s ³  name will never lose his reward.
