to James and his brother John, the sons of Zebedee, ¹  he gave the name Boanerges (that is, “sons of thunder”);

He asked him urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Come and lay your hands on her so that she may be healed and live.”

they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; ¹  they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.”

As ¹  they led him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene, ²  who was coming in from the country. ³  They placed the cross on his back and made him carry it behind Jesus. ⁴ 

Having said this, ¹  he spat on the ground and made some mud ²  with the saliva. He ³  smeared the mud on the blind man’s ⁴  eyes

saying, “Give me this power ¹  too, so that everyone I place my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

So now why are you putting God to the test ¹  by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke ²  that neither our ancestors ³  nor we have been able to bear?

because I am with you, and no one will assault ¹  you to harm ²  you, because I have many people in this city.”

and when Paul placed ¹  his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came ²  upon them, and they began to speak ³  in tongues and to prophesy. ⁴ 

When Paul had gathered a bundle of brushwood ¹  and was putting it on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand.

As he was saying these things, a ruler came, bowed low before him, and said, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.”

and after braiding ¹  a crown of thorns, ²  they put it on his head. They ³  put a staff ⁴  in his right hand, and kneeling down before him, they mocked him: ⁵  “Hail, king of the Jews!” ⁶ 

He took the blind man by the hand and brought him outside of the village. Then ¹  he spit on his eyes, placed his hands on his eyes ²  and asked, “Do you see anything?”

As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives ¹  sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus. ²  He placed ³  his hands on every one of them and healed them.

Jesus replied, ¹  “A man was going down ²  from Jerusalem ³  to Jericho, ⁴  and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat ⁵  him up, and went off, leaving him half dead. ⁶ 

So the Pharisees asked him again how he had gained his sight. ¹  He replied, ²  “He put mud ³  on my eyes and I washed, and now ⁴  I am able to see.”

The father ¹  of Publius lay sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him ²  and after praying, placed ³  his hands on him and healed ⁴  him.

So Ananias departed and entered the house, placed ¹  his hands on Saul ²  and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came here, ³  has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” ⁴
