We know that God doesn’t listen to ¹  sinners, but if anyone is devout ²  and does his will, God ³  listens to ⁴  him. ⁵ 

When Ananias heard these words he collapsed and died, and great fear gripped ¹  all who heard about it.

How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them ¹ ?

When King Herod ¹  heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

Now when Jesus ¹  heard that John had been imprisoned, ²  he went into Galilee.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ ¹ 

“But your eyes are blessed ¹  because they see, and your ears because they hear.

At that time Herod the tetrarch ¹  heard reports about Jesus,

Then he called the crowd to him and said, ¹  “Listen and understand.

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹ 

The ¹  disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?” ² 

Now ¹  when the other ten ²  heard this, ³  they were angry with the two brothers.

Now when they heard this they were stunned, ¹  and they left him and went away.

When the crowds heard this, they were amazed at his teaching.

Now when the Pharisees ¹  heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, ²  they assembled together. ³ 

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many charges they are bringing against you?”

When ¹  some of the bystanders heard it, they said, “This man is calling for Elijah.”

Now ¹  after some days, when he returned to Capernaum, ²  the news spread ³  that he was at home.

When his family ¹  heard this they went out to restrain him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

“Listen! A sower went out to sow. ¹
