Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

The one who eats ¹  my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him. ² 

so the priest is to examine the raw flesh ¹  and pronounce him unclean ²  – it is diseased.

You ¹  devour my people’s flesh, strip off their skin, and crush their bones. You chop them up like flesh in a pot ²  – like meat in a kettle.

I will reduce the people of this city to desperate straits during the siege imposed on it by their enemies who are seeking to kill them. I will make them so desperate that they will eat the flesh of their own sons and daughters and the flesh of one another.”’” ¹ 

For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by ¹  the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.

because the person who sows to his own flesh ¹  will reap corruption ²  from the flesh, ³  but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

but the leftovers from the meat of the sacrifice must be burned up in the fire ¹  on the third day.

but the remainder of the meat and the bread ¹  you must burn with fire.

For, when I think ¹  about this, I am terrified ²  and my body feels a shudder. ³ 

For I am overcome with shame ¹  and my whole body is sick. ² 

to the one who gives food to all living things, ¹  for his loyal love endures.

You clothed ¹  me with skin and flesh and knit me together ²  with bones and sinews.

And after my skin has been destroyed, ¹  yet in my flesh ²  I will see God, ³ 

yet you ¹  hate what is good, ²  and love what is evil. ³  You flay my people’s skin ⁴  and rip the flesh from their bones. ⁵ 

The meat which touches anything ceremonially ¹  unclean must not be eaten; it must be burned up in the fire. As for ceremonially clean meat, ²  everyone who is ceremonially clean may eat the meat.

I will give them one heart and I will put a new spirit within them; ¹  I will remove the hearts of stone from their bodies ²  and I will give them tender hearts, ³ 

I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the heart of stone ¹  from your body and give you a heart of flesh. ²

You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskins. This will be a reminder ¹  of the covenant between me and you.
