Pilate asked, ¹  “What is truth?” ²  When he had said this he went back outside to the Jewish leaders ³  and announced, ⁴  “I find no basis for an accusation ⁵  against him.

Again Pilate went out and said to the Jewish leaders, ¹  “Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no reason for an accusation ²  against him.”

These people are grumblers and ¹  fault-finders who go ²  wherever their desires lead them, ³  and they give bombastic speeches, ⁴  enchanting folks ⁵  for their own gain. ⁶ 

When the chief priests and their officers saw him, they shouted out, “Crucify ¹  him! Crucify him!” ²  Pilate said, ³  “You take him and crucify him! ⁴  Certainly ⁵  I find no reason for an accusation ⁶  against him!”

that ¹  you must search out ²  my iniquity, and inquire about my sin,

They grumbled in their tents; ¹  they did not obey ²  the Lord.

You open your hand, and fill every living thing with the food they desire. ¹ 

For each one will carry ¹  his own load.

but there is one who hears the sound of the trumpet yet does not heed the warning. Then the sword comes and sweeps him away. He will be responsible for his own death. ¹ 

These words of Ish-bosheth really angered Abner and he said, “Am I the head of a dog that belongs to Judah? This very day I am demonstrating ¹  loyalty to the house of Saul your father and to his relatives ²  and his friends! I have not betrayed you into the hand of David. Yet you have accused me of sinning with this woman today! ³ 

¹ Yet God ²  finds occasions ³  with me; he regards me as his enemy!

“Will the one who contends ¹  with the Almighty correct him? ²  Let the person who accuses God give him an answer!”

I am not condemning ¹  you because of your sacrifices, or because of your burnt sacrifices that you continually offer me. ² 

The one who forgives ¹  an offense seeks ²  love, but whoever repeats a matter separates close friends. ³ 

So they began to discuss with one another about having no bread. ¹ 

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, ¹  the circumcised believers ²  took issue with ³  him,

For the creation was subjected to futility – not willingly but because of God ¹  who subjected it – in hope

We did this ¹  as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.

Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

with all humility and gentleness, ¹  with patience, bearing with ²  one another in love,
