Then he moved away from there and dug another well. They did not quarrel over it, so Isaac ¹  named it ²  Rehoboth, ³  saying, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we will prosper in the land.”

‘My father made me swear an oath. He said, ¹  “I am about to die. Bury me ²  in my tomb that I dug for myself there in the land of Canaan.” Now let me go and bury my father; then I will return.’”

They captured fortified cities and fertile land. They took possession of houses full of all sorts of good things – wells previously dug, vineyards, olive trees, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate until they were full ¹  and grew fat. They enjoyed to the full your great goodness.

For he has been thrown into a net by his feet ¹  and he wanders into a mesh. ² 

A rope is hidden for him ¹  on the ground and a trap for him ²  lies on the path.

The underworld ¹  is naked before God; ²  the place of destruction lies uncovered. ³ 

Iron is taken from the ground, ¹  and rock is poured out ²  as copper.
