Whoever does these things is abhorrent to the Lord and because of these detestable things ¹  the Lord your God is about to drive them out ²  from before you.

You have seen their detestable things ¹  and idols of wood, stone, silver, and gold.) ² 

“Therefore, as surely as I live, says the sovereign Lord, because you defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable idols and with all your abominable practices, I will withdraw; my eye will not pity you, nor will I spare ¹  you.

“Son of man, confront Jerusalem ¹  with her abominable practices

Do not make yourselves detestable by any of the swarming things. ¹  You must not defile yourselves by them and become unclean by them,

If a man has sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman, ¹  the two of them have committed an abomination. They must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves.

“If you, Israel, want to come back,” says the Lord, “if you want to come back to me ¹  you must get those disgusting idols ²  out of my sight and must no longer go astray. ³ 

Next I eradicated the three shepherds in one month, ¹  for I ran out of patience with them and, indeed, they detested me as well.

The king ruined the high places east of Jerusalem, south of the Mount of Destruction, ¹  that King Solomon of Israel had built for the detestable Sidonian goddess Astarte, the detestable Moabite god Chemosh, and the horrible Ammonite god Milcom.

For if anyone does any of these abominations, the persons who do them will be cut off from the midst of their people. ¹ 

For anyone who acts dishonestly in these ways is abhorrent ¹  to the Lord your God.

They made him jealous with other gods, ¹  they enraged him with abhorrent idols. ² 

All my closest friends ¹  detest me; and those whom ²  I love have turned against me. ³ 

They detest me and maintain their distance; ¹  they do not hesitate to spit in my face.

for one who goes astray ¹  is an abomination ²  to the Lord, but he reveals ³  his intimate counsel ⁴  to the upright.

There are six things that the Lord hates, even ¹  seven ²  things that are an abomination to him: ³ 

For my mouth ¹  speaks truth, ²  and my lips ³  hate wickedness. ⁴ 

An unjust person is an abomination to the righteous, and the one who lives an upright life is an abomination to the wicked. ¹ 

I said to them, “Each of you must get rid of the detestable idols you keep before you, ¹  and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.”

But ¹  Jesus ²  said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in men’s eyes, ³  but God knows your hearts. For what is highly prized ⁴  among men is utterly detestable ⁵  in God’s sight.
