Surely ¹  you put them in slippery places; you bring them down ²  to ruin.

Before destruction the heart ¹  of a person is proud, but humility comes ²  before honor. ³ 

Wail, for the Lord’s day of judgment ¹  is near; it comes with all the destructive power of the sovereign judge. ² 

Cries of anguish will come from Babylon, the sound of great destruction from the land of the Babylonians.

Now the coastlands will tremble on the day of your fall; the coastlands by the sea will be terrified by your passing.’ ¹ 

And a great storm developed on the sea so that the waves began to swamp the boat. But he was asleep.

By faith the walls of Jericho ¹  fell after the people marched around them ²  for seven days.

For the music director; a psalm of David. May the Lord answer ²  you ³  when you are in trouble; ⁴  may the God of Jacob ⁵  make you secure!

One deep stream calls out to another ¹  at the sound of your waterfalls; ²  all your billows and waves overwhelm me. ³ 

when its waves ¹  crash ²  and foam, and the mountains shake ³  before the surging sea. ⁴  (Selah)

The waves ¹  roar, O Lord, the waves roar, the waves roar and crash. ² 

Look, the sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, is ready to cut off the branches with terrifying power. ¹  The tallest trees ²  will be cut down, the loftiest ones will be brought low.
