So ¹  the demons came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd of pigs ²  rushed down the steep slope into the lake and drowned.

Six hundred survivors turned and ran away to the wilderness, to the cliff of Rimmon. They stayed there four months.

The entire assembly sent messengers to the Benjaminites at the cliff of Rimmon and assured them they would not be harmed. ¹ 

But as ¹  a mountain falls away and crumbles, ²  and as a rock will be removed from its place,

For this reason we do not fear ¹  when the earth shakes, ²  and the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea, ³ 

But as for me, my feet almost slipped; my feet almost slid out from under me. ¹ 

Surely ¹  you put them in slippery places; you bring them down ²  to ruin.

“I would feed Israel the best wheat, ¹  and would satisfy your appetite ²  with honey from the rocky cliffs.” ³ 

Go up into the rocky cliffs, hide in the ground. Get away from the dreadful judgment of the Lord, ¹  from his royal splendor!

The Lord says, ¹  “Beware! I am opposed to you, Babylon! ²  You are like a destructive mountain that destroys all the earth. I will unleash my power against you; ³  I will roll you off the cliffs and make you like a burned-out mountain. ⁴ 

For from the top of the rocks I see them; ¹  from the hills I watch them. ²  Indeed, a nation that lives alone, and it will not be reckoned ³  among the nations.

The Arabah and the Jordan River ¹  were also a border, from the sea of Chinnereth ²  to the sea of the Arabah (that is, the Salt Sea), ³  beneath the watershed ⁴  of Pisgah ⁵  to the east.

He struck them down and defeated them. ¹  Then he went down and lived for a time in the cave in the cliff of Etam.

Three of the thirty leaders went down to David at the rocky cliff at the cave of Adullam, while a Philistine force was camped in the Valley of Rephaim.

You who tear yourself ¹  to pieces in your anger, will the earth be abandoned ²  for your sake? Or will a rock be moved from its place? ³ 

Listen to me! ¹  Quickly deliver me! Be my protector and refuge, ²  a stronghold where I can be safe! ³ 

For you are my high ridge ¹  and my stronghold; for the sake of your own reputation ²  you lead me and guide me. ³ 

when you deliver ¹  my life from death. You keep my feet from stumbling, ²  so that I might serve ³  God as I enjoy life. ⁴ 

Each of them ¹  will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from a rainstorm; like streams of water in a dry region and like the shade of a large cliff in a parched land.

Can horses run on rocky cliffs? Can one plow the sea with oxen? ¹  Yet you have turned justice into a poisonous plant, and the fruit of righteous actions into a bitter plant. ²
