I will build a great temple, for our God is greater than all gods.

Now my father David had a strong desire to build a temple to honor the Lord God of Israel. ¹ 

When the enemies of Judah and Benjamin learned that the former exiles ¹  were building a temple for the Lord God of Israel,

Every wise woman ¹  builds ²  her household, ³  but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, ¹ 

So I have decided ¹  to build a temple to honor the Lord ²  my God, as the Lord instructed my father David, ‘Your son, whom I will put on your throne in your place, is the one who will build a temple to honor me.’ ³ 

The building that was facing the temple courtyard at the west side was 122½ feet ¹  wide; the wall of the building was 8¾ feet ²  all around, and its length 157½ feet. ³ 

Solomon took thirteen years to build his palace. ¹ 

He began building on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign. ¹ 

Then the local people ¹  began to discourage ²  the people of Judah and to dishearten them from building.

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

And there are times when I promise to build up and establish ¹  a nation or kingdom.

Woe to you! You build ¹  the tombs of the prophets whom your ancestors ²  killed.

According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master-builder I laid a foundation, but someone else builds on it. And each one must be careful how he builds.

In the eleventh year, in the month Bul ¹  (the eighth month) the temple was completed in accordance with all its specifications and blueprints. It took seven years to build. ² 

After Solomon finished building the Lord’s temple, the royal palace, and all the other construction projects he had planned, ¹ 

Come through! Come through the gates! Prepare the way for the people! Build it! Build the roadway! Remove the stones! Lift a signal flag for the nations!

(1:18) ¹  Solomon ordered a temple to be built to honor the Lord, as well as a royal palace for himself. ² 

We have not built any houses to live in. We do not own any vineyards, fields, or crops.

Likewise, just as it was ¹  in the days of Lot, people ²  were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;
