Now ¹  they had forgotten to take bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.

For the bread of God is the one who ¹  comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

and from the basket of unleavened bread that was before the Lord he took one unleavened loaf, one loaf of bread mixed with olive oil, and one wafer, ¹  and placed them on the fat parts and on the right thigh.

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.

You must not eat any yeast with it; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, symbolic of affliction, for you came out of Egypt hurriedly. You must do this so you will remember for the rest of your life the day you came out of the land of Egypt.

For I eat ashes as if they were bread, ¹  and mix my drink with my tears, ² 

Judas ¹  took the piece of bread and went out immediately. (Now it was night.) ² 

Melchizedek king of Salem ¹  brought out bread and wine. (Now he was the priest of the Most High God.) ² 

Then she handed ¹  the tasty food and the bread she had made to her son Jacob.

Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that was in the basket at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

And he set the bread in order on it ¹  before the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

He must present this grain offering ¹  in addition to ring-shaped loaves of leavened bread which regularly accompany ²  the sacrifice of his thanksgiving peace offering.

A huge crowd assembled in Jerusalem to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month. ¹ 

So the Israelites who were present observed the Passover at that time, as well as the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days.

The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.” ¹ 

So ¹  they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.”

So they began to discuss with one another about having no bread. ¹ 

The devil said to him, “If ¹  you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” ² 

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

Then the day for the feast ¹  of Unleavened Bread came, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. ²
