Their buds and their branches were of one piece; ¹  all of it was one hammered piece of pure gold.

My roots reach the water, and the dew lies on my branches all night long.

A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s ¹  root stock, a bud will sprout ²  from his roots.

Then say to him, ‘The Lord who rules over all says, “Look – here is the man whose name is Branch, ¹  who will sprout up from his place and build the temple of the Lord.

Consider Assyria, ¹  a cedar in Lebanon, ²  with beautiful branches, like a forest giving shade, and extremely tall; its top reached into the clouds.

do not boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

On the vine there were three branches. As it budded, its blossoms opened and its clusters ripened into grapes.

All the birds of the sky nested in its boughs; under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, in its shade all the great ¹  nations lived.

A ¹  very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

when it is sown, it grows up, ¹  becomes the greatest of all garden plants, and grows large branches so that the wild birds ²  can nest in its shade.” ³ 

It is like a mustard seed ¹  that a man took and sowed ²  in his garden. It ³  grew and became a tree, ⁴  and the wild birds ⁵  nested in its branches.” ⁶ 

So they took branches of palm trees ¹  and went out to meet him. They began to shout, ²  “Hosanna! ³  Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! ⁴  Blessed is ⁵  the king of Israel!”

“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains ¹  in me – and I in him – bears ²  much fruit, ³  because apart from me you can accomplish ⁴  nothing.

Egypt will not be able to do a thing, head or tail, shoots and stalk. ¹
