On the seventh day, as King Ahasuerus was feeling the effects of the wine, ¹  he ordered Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven eunuchs who attended him, ² 

A prayer of David. Lord, consider my just cause! ²  Pay attention to my cry for help! Listen to the prayer I sincerely offer! ³ 

Listen to my cry for help, for I am in serious trouble! ¹  Rescue me from those who chase me, for they are stronger than I am.

For this reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities ¹  are God’s servants devoted to governing. ² 

A river of fire was streaming forth and proceeding from his presence. Many thousands were ministering to him; Many tens of thousands stood ready to serve him. ¹  The court convened ²  and the books were opened.

One day ¹  he went into the house to do his work when none of the household servants ²  were there in the house.

So Moses set out ¹  with ²  Joshua his attendant, and Moses went up the mountain of God.

They are responsible for his needs ¹  and the needs of the whole community before the tent of meeting, by attending ²  to the service of the tabernacle.

He will demand a tenth of your seed and of the produce of your vineyards and give it to his administrators ¹  and his servants.

O Lord, hear my prayer! Pay attention to my plea for mercy!

My child, pay attention to my words; listen attentively ¹  to my sayings.

Pay careful attention to ¹  the condition of your flocks, ²  give careful attention ³  to your herds,

Who among you will pay attention to this? Who will listen attentively in the future? ¹ 

So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal attendant. ¹  Potiphar appointed Joseph ²  overseer of his household and put him in charge ³  of everything he owned.

Joseph was no longer able to control himself before all his attendants, ¹  so he cried out, “Make everyone go out from my presence!” No one remained ²  with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers.

Then the daughter of Pharaoh ¹  came down to wash herself ²  by the Nile, while her attendants were walking alongside the river, ³  and she saw the basket among the reeds. She sent one of her attendants, ⁴  took it, ⁵ 

As she was dying, the women who were there with her said, “Don’t be afraid! You have given birth to a son!” But she did not reply or pay any attention. ¹ 

So you are to appoint Aaron and his sons, and they will be responsible for their priesthood; ¹  but the unauthorized person ²  who comes near must be put to death.”

They may assist ¹  their colleagues ²  in the tent of meeting, to attend to needs, but they must do no work. This is the way you must establish ³  the Levites regarding their duties.”

They must join ¹  with you, and they will be responsible for the care of the tent of meeting, for all the service of the tent, but no unauthorized person ²  may approach you.
