When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and a violent ¹  storm continued to batter us, ²  we finally abandoned all hope of being saved. ³ 

But since you abandoned me and worshiped ¹  other gods, I will not deliver you again.

This was the one who exploited ¹  our people ²  and was cruel to our ancestors, ³  forcing them to abandon ⁴  their infants so they would die. ⁵

You also know that ¹  the angels who did not keep within their proper domain ²  but abandoned their own place of residence, he has kept ³  in eternal chains ⁴  in utter ⁵  darkness, locked up ⁶  for the judgment of the great Day.

He makes nations great, ¹  and destroys them; he extends the boundaries of nations and disperses ²  them. ³ 

Even if my father and mother abandoned me, ¹  the Lord would take me in. ² 

But the Lord does not surrender the godly, or allow them to be condemned in a court of law. ¹
