All the temple servants and the descendants of the servants of Solomon, 392.

When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had then returned,

King Solomon sent for Hiram ¹  of Tyre. ² 

Solomon built up Gezer, lower Beth Horon,

Solomon ruled over all Israel from Jerusalem ¹  for forty years.

These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of King Hezekiah of Judah copied: ¹ 

King Solomon made a sedan chair ¹  for himself of wood imported from Lebanon. ² 

All of King Solomon’s cups were made of gold, and all the household items in the Palace of the Lebanon Forest were made of pure gold. There were no silver items, for silver was not considered very valuable in Solomon’s time. ¹ 

Solomon was told, “Look, Adonijah fears you; ¹  see, he has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘May King Solomon solemnly promise ²  me today that he will not kill his servant with the sword.’”

Solomon was wiser than all the men of the east and all the sages of Egypt. ¹ 

Hiram sent his fleet and some of his sailors, who were well acquainted with the sea, to serve with Solomon’s men. ¹ 

Look! It is Solomon’s portable couch! ¹  It is surrounded by sixty warriors, some of Israel’s mightiest warriors.

Zadok the priest took a horn filled with olive oil ¹  from the tent and poured it on ²  Solomon; the trumpet was blown and all the people declared, “Long live King Solomon!”

Solomon tried to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam escaped to Egypt and found refuge with King Shishak of Egypt. ¹  He stayed in Egypt until Solomon died.

So the Lord gave Solomon wisdom, as he had promised him. And Hiram and Solomon were at peace and made a treaty. ¹ 

They supported ¹  the kingdom of Judah and were loyal to ²  Rehoboam son of Solomon for three years; they followed the edicts of ³  David and Solomon for three years.

Ben-Abinadab was in charge of Naphath Dor. (He was married to Solomon’s daughter Taphath.)

Huram sent him ships and some of his sailors, men who were well acquainted with the sea. They sailed with Solomon’s men to Ophir, ¹  and took from there 450 talents ²  of gold, which they brought back to King Solomon.

When King Solomon heard ¹  that Joab had run to the tent of the Lord and was right there beside the altar, he ordered Benaiah son of Jehoiada, ²  “Go, strike him down.”
