Three years later two of Shimei’s servants ran away to King Achish son of Maacah of Gath. Shimei was told, “Look, your servants are in Gath.”

When the Ammonites realized that David was disgusted with them, ¹  Hanun and the Ammonites sent 1,000 talents ²  of silver to hire chariots and charioteers from Aram Naharaim, Aram Maacah, and Zobah. ³

Their territory also included ¹  Gilead, Geshurite and Maacathite territory, all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah –

But the Israelites did not conquer ¹  the Geshurites and Maacathites; Geshur and Maacah live among Israel to this very day.

Hashabiah son of Kemuel led the Levites, Zadok led the descendants of Aaron,

and ruled over Mount Hermon, Salecah, all of Bashan to the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and half of Gilead as far as the border of King Sihon of Heshbon.
