So they went up from Egypt and came to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan. ¹

All the direct descendants of Jacob who went to Egypt with him were sixty-six in number. (This number does not include the wives of Jacob’s sons.) ¹ 

All this is because of Jacob’s rebellion and ¹  the sins of the nation ²  of Israel. How has Jacob rebelled, you ask? ³  Samaria epitomizes their rebellion! ⁴  Where are Judah’s pagan worship centers, you ask? ⁵  They are right in Jerusalem! ⁶ 

Leah became pregnant again and gave Jacob a son for the sixth time. ¹ 

Moses delivered to us a law, ¹  an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob.

As for me, I will continually tell what you have done; ¹  I will sing praises to the God of Jacob!

For they have devoured Jacob and destroyed his home.

and how he made a vow to the Lord, and swore an oath to the powerful ruler of Jacob. ¹ 

until I find a place for the Lord, a fine dwelling place ¹  for the powerful ruler of Jacob.” ²
