Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man who had lived a full life. ¹  He joined his ancestors. ² 

Next in command ¹  was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. When the Philistines assembled at Lehi, ²  where there happened to be an area of a field that was full of lentils, the army retreated before the Philistines.

He died at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth, and honor. ¹  His son Solomon succeeded him.

Joshua son of Nun, the Lord’s servant, died at the age of one hundred ten.

Jehoiada grew old and died at the age of 130. ¹ 

the young men would see me and step aside, ¹  and the old men would get up and remain standing;

I said to myself, ‘Age ¹  should speak, ²  and length of years ³  should make wisdom known.’

She went on to say, ¹  “Who would ²  have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have given birth to a son for him in his old age!”

Gideon son of Joash died at a very ¹  old age and was buried in the tomb of his father Joash located in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

“For inquire now of the former ¹  generation, and pay attention ²  to the findings ³  of their ancestors; ⁴ 

I am more discerning than those older than I, for I observe your precepts.

Grandchildren ¹  are like ²  a crown ³  to the elderly, and the glory ⁴  of children is their parents. ⁵ 

Moreover, the Lord who rules over all says, ‘Old men and women will once more live in the plazas of Jerusalem, each one leaning on a cane because of advanced age.

teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, ¹  I am with you ²  always, to the end of the age.” ³ 

“And look, ¹  your relative ²  Elizabeth has also become pregnant with ³  a son in her old age – although she was called barren, she is now in her sixth month! ⁴ 

far above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Do not reject me in my old age! ¹  When my strength fails, do not abandon me!

Where is the wise man? Where is the expert in the Mosaic law? ¹  Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish?

These things happened to them as examples and were written for our instruction, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

to demonstrate in the coming ages ¹  the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness toward ²  us in Christ Jesus.
