A drought will come upon her land; her rivers and canals will be dried up. ¹  All of this will happen because her land is filled with idols. ²  Her people act like madmen because of ³  those idols they fear. ⁴ 

I will multiply your people ¹  – the whole house of Israel, all of it. The cities will be populated and the ruins rebuilt.

When the army is taken away, the king of the south will become arrogant. ¹  He will be responsible for the death ²  of thousands and thousands of people, ³  but he will not continue to prevail.

whenever I want to heal Israel, the sin of Ephraim is revealed, and the evil deeds of Samaria are exposed. For they do what is wrong; thieves break into houses, and gangs rob people out in the streets.

I will destroy both the winter and summer houses. ¹  The houses filled with ivory ²  will be ruined, the great ³  houses will be swept away.” ⁴  The Lord is speaking!

The Lord is a zealous ¹  and avenging ²  God; the Lord is avenging and very angry. ³  The Lord takes vengeance ⁴  against his foes; he sustains his rage ⁵  against his enemies.

When ¹  the crowd saw this, they were afraid ²  and honored God who had given such authority to men. ³ 

Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say anything good, since you are evil? For the mouth speaks from what fills the heart.

The disciples said to him, “Where can we get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy so great a crowd?”

Now when the centurion ¹  and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and what took place, they were extremely terrified and said, “Truly this one was God’s Son!”

He said to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and to throw it to the dogs.” ¹ 

All ¹  their neighbors were filled with fear, and throughout the entire hill country of Judea all these things were talked about.

While the people were filled with anticipation ¹  and they all wondered ²  whether perhaps John ³  could be the Christ, ⁴ 

Then ¹  Jesus, in the power of the Spirit, ²  returned to Galilee, and news about him spread ³  throughout the surrounding countryside. ⁴ 

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

A jar full of sour wine ¹  was there, so they put a sponge soaked in sour wine on a branch of hyssop ²  and lifted it ³  to his mouth.

When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. ¹ 

The city possesses ¹  the glory of God; its brilliance is like a precious jewel, like a stone of crystal-clear jasper. ² 

His offering was one silver platter weighing 130 shekels, ¹  and one silver sprinkling bowl weighing 70 shekels, both according to the sanctuary shekel, each of them full of fine flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering;
