Be keenly aware that just as a parent disciplines his child, ¹  the Lord your God disciplines you.

Not one of the Lord’s faithful promises to the family of Israel ¹  was left unfulfilled; every one was realized. ² 

The Danites went on their way; when Micah realized ¹  they were too strong to resist, ²  he turned around and went home.

When the Israelites turned around, the Benjaminites panicked ¹  because they could see that disaster was on their doorstep. ²

All the people and all Israel realized on that day that the killing of Abner son of Ner was not done at the king’s instigation. ¹ 

if the king becomes angry and asks you, ‘Why did you go so close to the city to fight? Didn’t you realize they would shoot from the wall?

I got up in the morning to nurse my son, and there he was, ¹  dead! But when I examined him carefully in the morning, I realized it was not my baby.” ² 

Now, O God of Israel, may the promise you made ¹  to your servant, my father David, be realized. ² 

Jehoahaz asked for the Lord’s mercy ¹  and the Lord responded favorably, ²  for he saw that Israel was oppressed by the king of Syria. ³
