And with this confidence I intended to come to you first so that you would get a second opportunity to see us, ¹ 

But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the extraordinary power ¹  belongs to God and does not come from us.

For the love of Christ ¹  controls us, since we have concluded this, that Christ ²  died for all; therefore all have died.

Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea ¹  through us. We plead with you ²  on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God!”

God ¹  made the one who did not know sin ²  to be sin for us, so that in him ³  we would become the righteousness of God.

Make room for us in your hearts; ¹  we have wronged no one, we have ruined no one, ²  we have exploited no one. ³ 

And they did this not just as we had hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God.

We did this ¹  as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.

You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, ¹  which is producing through us thanksgiving to God,

who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father,

They were only hearing, “The one who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news ¹  of the faith he once tried to destroy.”

For freedom ¹  Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke ²  of slavery.

So then, ¹  whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. ² 

Blessed ¹  is ²  the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed ³  us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.

For ¹  he chose us in Christ ²  before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished ³  in his sight ⁴  in love. ⁵ 

He did this by predestining ¹  us to adoption as his ²  sons ³  through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure ⁴  of his will –

to the praise of the glory of his grace ¹  that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son. ² 

He did this when he revealed ¹  to us the secret ²  of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth ³  in Christ, ⁴ 

and what is the incomparable ¹  greatness of his power toward ²  us who believe, as displayed in ³  the exercise of his immense strength. ⁴ 

Now to him who by the power that is working within us ¹  is able to do far beyond ²  all that we ask or think,
