And to all the animals of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to all the creatures that move on the ground – everything that has the breath of life in it – I give ¹  every green plant for food.” It was so.

For these past two years there has been famine in ¹  the land and for five more years there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.

I will not drive them out before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild animals ¹  multiply against you.

But if the bright spot stays in its place and has not spread, ¹  it is the scar of the boil, so the priest is to pronounce him clean. ² 

If, as far as the priest can see, the scall has stayed the same ¹  and black hair has sprouted in it, the scall has been healed; the person is clean. So the priest is to pronounce him clean. ² 

the priest is to examine them, ¹  and if ²  the bright spots on the skin of their body are faded white, it is a harmless rash that has broken out on the skin. The person is clean. ³ 

You may have the Sabbath produce ¹  of the land to eat – you, your male servant, your female servant, your hired worker, the resident foreigner who stays with you, ² 

or his uncle or his cousin ¹  may redeem him, or anyone of the rest of his blood relatives – his family ²  – may redeem him, or if ³  he prospers he may redeem himself.

I will turn to you, make you fruitful, multiply you, and maintain ¹  my covenant with you.

and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether or not there are forests in it. And be brave, ¹  and bring back some of the fruit of the land.” Now it was the time of year ²  for the first ripe grapes. ³ 

when your cattle and flocks increase, when you have plenty of silver and gold, and when you have abundance of everything,

you may bring her back to your house. She must shave her head, ¹  trim her nails,

As for the produce of your land and all your labor, a people you do not know will consume it, and you will be nothing but oppressed and crushed for the rest of your lives.

You will have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with olive oil, because the olives will drop off the trees while still unripe. ¹ 

When Joshua was very old, ¹  the Lord told him, “You are very old, and a great deal of land remains to be conquered.

But Naomi replied, “Go back home, my daughters! There is no reason for you to return to Judah with me! ¹  I am no longer capable of giving birth to sons who might become your husbands! ² 

The village women said to Naomi, “May the Lord be praised because he has not left you without a guardian ¹  today! May he ²  become famous in Israel! ³ 

The king made silver as plentiful ¹  in Jerusalem as stones; cedar was ²  as plentiful as sycamore fig trees are in the lowlands. ³ 

For this is what the Lord God of Israel says, ‘The jar of flour will not be empty and the jug of oil will not run out until the day the Lord makes it rain on the surface of the ground.’”

The men of the city said to Elisha, “Look, the city has a good location, as our ¹  master can see. But the water is bad and the land doesn’t produce crops.” ²
