David restrained his men with these words and did not allow them to rise up against Saul. Then Saul left the cave and started down ¹  the road.

So David and his men got up early in the morning to return ¹  to the land of the Philistines, but the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

When they approached the Israelite camp, the Israelites rose up and struck down the Moabites, who then ran from them. The Israelites ¹  thoroughly defeated ²  Moab.

Jehoram crossed over to Zair with his officers and all his chariots. The Edomites, who had surrounded him, attacked at night and defeated him and his chariot officers. ¹ 

The governor ¹  instructed them not to eat any of the sacred food until there was a priest who could consult ²  the Urim and Thummim.

Then the glory of the Lord arose from the cherub and moved to the threshold of the temple. The temple was filled with the cloud while the court was filled with the brightness of the Lord’s glory.

saying, “Where is the one who is born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose ¹  and have come to worship him.”

Now ¹  an expert in religious law ²  stood up to test Jesus, ³  saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” ⁴ 

In those days ¹  Peter stood up among the believers ²  (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty people) and said,

So Peter ¹  invited them in and entertained them as guests. On the next day he got up and set out ²  with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa ³  accompanied him.

So Paul stood up, ¹  gestured ²  with his hand and said, “Men of Israel, ³  and you Gentiles who fear God, ⁴  listen:

They had ¹  a sharp disagreement, ²  so that they parted company. Barnabas took along ³  Mark and sailed away to Cyprus, ⁴ 

But when they recognized ¹  that he was a Jew, they all shouted in unison, ²  “Great is Artemis ³  of the Ephesians!” for about two hours. ⁴ 

Then ¹  war broke out in heaven: Michael ²  and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.

At dawn ¹  the angels hurried Lot along, saying, “Get going! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, ²  or else you will be destroyed when the city is judged!” ³ 

and Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. Early in the morning he built ¹  an altar at the foot ²  of the mountain and arranged ³  twelve standing stones ⁴  – according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

he took his men ¹  and divided them into three units and set an ambush in the field. When he saw the people coming out of the city, ²  he attacked and struck them down. ³

¹  All the men of Israel got up from their places and took their positions at Baal Tamar, while the Israelites hiding in ambush jumped out of their places west of Gibeah.
