God was with the boy as he grew. He lived in the wilderness and became an archer.

You give me strength for battle; ¹  you make my foes kneel before me. ²

After Jehoiada died, the officials of Judah visited the king and declared their loyalty to him. ¹  The king listened to their advice. ²

Let them disappear ¹  like water that flows away! ²  Let them wither like grass! ³ 

All who worship idols are ashamed, those who boast about worthless idols. All the gods bow down before him. ¹ 

when those who keep watch over the house ¹  begin to tremble, ²  and the virile men begin to stoop over, ³  and the grinders ⁴  begin to cease because they grow few, and those who look through the windows grow dim, ⁵

I will perform a mighty act among them ¹  and then send some of those who remain to the nations – to Tarshish, Pul, ²  Lud ³  (known for its archers ⁴ ), Tubal, Javan, ⁵  and to the distant coastlands ⁶  that have not heard about me or seen my splendor. They will tell the nations of my splendor.
