Zebah and Zalmunna said to Gideon, ¹  “Come on, ²  you strike us, for a man is judged by his strength.” ³  So Gideon killed ⁴  Zebah and Zalmunna, and he took the crescent-shaped ornaments which were on the necks of their camels.

No weapon forged to be used against you will succeed; you will refute everyone who tries to accuse you. ¹  This is what the Lord will do for his servants – I will vindicate them,” ²  says the Lord.

¹ His thunder announces the coming storm, the cattle also, concerning the storm’s approach.

Who really knows if the human spirit ¹  ascends upward, and the animal’s spirit descends into the earth?

The Lord takes his position to judge; he stands up to pass sentence on his people. ¹ 

And if Satan rises against himself and is divided, he is not able to stand and his end has come.

In him ¹  the whole building, ²  being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

and then ¹  if he gets up and walks about ²  outside on his staff, then the one who struck him is innocent, except he must pay ³  for the injured person’s ⁴  loss of time ⁵  and see to it that he is fully healed.

Then I related to them how the good hand of my God was on me and what ¹  the king had said to me. Then they replied, “Let’s begin rebuilding right away!” ²  So they readied themselves ³  for this good project.
