So Hamor and his son Shechem went to the gate ¹  of their city and spoke to the men of their city,

He turned away from them and wept. When he turned around and spoke to them again, ¹  he had Simeon taken ²  from them and tied up ³  before their eyes.

“The man, the lord of the land, spoke harshly to us and treated us ¹  as if we were ²  spying on the land.

So they approached the man who was in charge of Joseph’s household and spoke to him at the entrance to the house.

He asked them how they were doing. ¹  Then he said, “Is your aging father well, the one you spoke about? Is he still alive?”

So now, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your little children.” Then he consoled them and spoke kindly ¹  to them.

Aaron spoke ¹  all the words that the Lord had spoken to Moses and did the signs in the sight of the people,

As Aaron spoke ¹  to the whole community of the Israelites and they looked toward the desert, there the glory of the Lord ²  appeared ³  in the cloud,

The Lord spoke to Moses: “Go quickly, descend, ¹  because your ²  people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have acted corruptly.

But Moses called to them, so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and Moses spoke to them.

The Lord spoke to Moses after the death of Aaron’s two sons when they approached the presence of the Lord ¹  and died,

¹ The Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out ²  of the land of Egypt:

¹ Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against ²  Moses because of the Cushite ³  woman he had married ⁴  (for he had married an Ethiopian woman).

The Lord spoke immediately to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam: “The three of you come to the tent of meeting.” So the three of them went.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom. He said:

And from there they traveled ¹  to Beer; ²  that is the well where the Lord spoke to Moses, “Gather the people and I will give them water.”

So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan River ¹  across from Jericho. ²  They said,

So Moses spoke to the people: “Arm ¹  men from among you for the war, to attack the Midianites and to execute ²  the Lord’s vengeance on Midian.

The Lord our God spoke to us at Horeb and said, “You have stayed ¹  in the area of this mountain long enough.

I spoke to you, but you did not listen. Instead you rebelled against the Lord ¹  and recklessly went up to the hill country.
